C&K, the leading manufacturer of high reliability electromechanical switches, announces the launch of its ZPA series of surface-mount (SMT) subminiature snap-acting switches. The new switches feature surface-mount terminations, saving valuable board space on a PCB. They are suitable for fully-automated reflow soldering, which ensures they will be soldered to a PCB with high consistency and good quality joints.
C&K’s new ZPA series is the latest addition to C&K’s portfolio of subminiature snap-acting switches. They provide an excellent fit for a wide variety of applications, including as a PCB-mounted detector switch, or in communication devices, test equipment, security/alarm systems and consumer electronics.
The ZPA switches have a reliable snap-acting mechanism with a mechanical life rated at one million cycles and an electrical life of 1,000,000 cycles (at 0.1A), making them well-suited for long lifecycle applications. Two actuator versions are available, increasing flexibility to match specific customer requirements.
“At present, design engineers have very limited options for SMT subminiature snap-acting switches. The new ZPA series offers a better alternative than competitive products and is compact and reliable, with a long electrical and mechanical life,” says Jeffrey Phan, Global Product Manager, C&K.
The switches are available for purchase beginning in August 2019, are RoHS compliant and have an operating temperature range of -40ºC to +85ºC.
